Briefing

A pre-departure briefing is required. Depending on your prior boating experience and the area you intend to take the boat it can take from 5 minutes for the seasoned boatie, or up to an hour for a low experienced hirer. We wish you to have a safe and fun time on the water. (By arrangement the briefing may be held on a day prior to the actual hire).

Self drive criteria

Hiring the boats requires no licence, however you do need sufficient knowledge and experience to operate the vessel.

• Aged 20 years or over (proof required)
• Can read a nautical chart
• Understand the collision avoidance regulations
• Know and abide by the Water Recreation Regulations
• Experience aboard similar craft
• Agree to the conditions of hire on the hire form.

Safety equipment

Life jackets, emergency locator beacon, flares, marine radio, oars, first-aid kit.
